Pine Labs, an Indian fintech player, made the big announcement on Thursday that it would enter the wearable segments through the Pay Later EMI option. Indian users can now purchase their wearable devices using Pine Labs Buy Now Pay Later feature. A few brands that offer their products on this platform include PLAY and Fire-Boltt.
Wearables have seen tremendous growth in the Indian market in recent times. The business leader of Pay Later at Pine Labs, Mayur Mulani, stated that the company got inspired by the highly preferred watch-based wearables. He also said that the fitness freaks of this generation have made us take the giant leap into this space. Mulani was confident that festival seasons, EMI offers, and digital Pay Later options will drive sales further.
Arnav Kishore, founder of Fire-Boltt believes that the tip-up will benefit those who prefer EMI purchase features at the retail outlet. He was optimistic that their collaboration with Pine Labs would open the opportunity to sell more volumes and faster in a period that promises more growth.
